Crispy Baked Chicken Recipe
My Crispy Baked Chicken Recipe is moist, delicious, and easy to make. This is one of my husband's favorite recipes!

Ingredients
- 4-6 Pieces Bone-In Skin-On Chicken Thighs or Legs
- 1 tbsp Oil Olive Oil or Avocado Oil
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Ground Black Pepper
- 1/2 tbsp Smoked Paprika
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Onion powder
- 1/8 tsp Cayenne Pepper Optional (If you like it spicy!)
Optional Ingredients
- BBQ Sauce
- Buffalo Sauce
- Teriyaki Sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425° F.
- Dab the chicken with a clean paper towel to absorb moisture.
- Lightly drizzle oil all over the chicken.
- Rub salt, pepper, paprika, onion powder and garlic powder all over the chicken.
- Set an oven safe wire rack on top of a baking sheet pan.
- Spray the wire rack with non-stick cooking spray to prevent the chicke from sticking to the rack.
- Set the chicken on top of the wire rack, spreading the pieces out evenly.
- Bake the chicken in the oven for about 20 minutes or until the skin is crispy and lightly browned.
- Turn the oven temperature down to 350° F and bake for another 30 minutes until the chicken is no longer pink in the center.
- Remove the chicken from oven and let it cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
Optional:
- Remove the chicken from the oven and brush your favorite sauce all over the chicken for the last 5 minutes cooking.
Notes
I usually cook this recipe with Barbeque Sauce or Buffalo Sauce depending what I prefer that day.
You can also make this chicken recipe with no salt if you’re on a low sodium diet. I don’t add any seasonings or sauces to the chicken when I make this recipe for my daughter and it still tastes great!
Using a wire rack makes the chicken nice and crispy because it’s not sitting in the cooked juices while staying moist and tender.
